This is a great video of a non-super-thin body doing regular warm up exercises that pretty much all of us can do before a work-out no matter what day our 5k, 10k, 15k, half-marathon or marathon running training schedule has us doing that day! Follow your virtual training program and try these exercises before you go for a run or jog. See if warming up makes a difference!

The Real Reason You Should Warm Up!

Thanks to Active.com. You may recognize Active.com as the website that hosts the registration pages for many of the events you participate in. If you don’t, you will. Active.com offers a “premiere” membership which often offers discounted race registrations. I find that this membership pays for itself at least once and in some years twice. I’m not an affiliate of Active.com and I don’t get paid to say that. Just sayin’.
See you out there!
So a few days ago I challenged you to be sure you got yourself out to run at least 20 minutes to keep yourself (or get yourself) in the game.
Did you?
If so, let’s celebrate that with a big ‘Hell yeah! And a woot woot!!!’
If not, hmmmmm, what will work for you? Shame or inspiration?
Let me ask you one question and leave it for you to decide…
A year from now you will either look back and regret not having started or proudly celebrate having had the courage, foresight and tenacity to get your ass out there and start (with just a 20 minute jog).
Regret or Pride?
Your call…
Just so you know, If you choose Pride, all it takes TODAY is to take a 5 minute walk, then tack on a few minutes of jogging, then maybe walk a few, then run a little more, then walk again for five minutes.
That’s it. That’s all it takes for now. Oh, and schedule a doc’s appointment or call to make sure it’s okay to JOIN BeRunning! 2012.
That’s NEXT!
See you out there,
